Q1. What is Interpay?

Interpay is an electronic payment platform that facilitates the processing of bills and invoices as well as the collection of payments.

Q2. How does it work?

  • Merchant creates an online store interface (e.g., goods, services, subscriptions, etc.) which enables customers to create a “shopping cart” and then pay for the items selected Or Merchant generates an online invoice to a customer (with an email address or mobile phone number) on an as required basis.
  • Customer receives an email/text message, inviting them to view and pay the bill and to enable them access the Interpay portal.
  • Customer logs on to their e-wallets and select the Merchant and the items that they wish to purchase or the invoice they will to pay.
  • If there are sufficient funds on the wallet, the transaction is completed. If funds are not sufficient, customer is informed to top up wallet at the bank or through mobile money.
  • Once a transaction is complete, Interpay moves money from Customer’s wallet into Merchant’s account and sends notifications to all parties that the payment has been made.

Interpay is connected to a number of banks (Ecobank, Access Bank, Energy Bank, The Royal Bank, Unibank, Zenith Bank, GT Bank, UBA, ProfPay, MasterCard, Visa, Union Pay, First Atlantic Bank, and Barclays Bank) as well as Tigo Cash, Airtel Money

Q4. How do I sign up?

Go to the website www.interpayafrica.com or the url (https://www.interpayafrica.com/Account/Register), key in your credential and submit. Interpay will confirm the email address by sending you a mail.

Q5. How do I top up my wallet?

Go to any of the banks signed on Interpay and give the teller you username and how much you want to top up. You will receive an email confirming your wallet top-up

Q6. How will it benefit me as a merchant?

  • Creates a paperless environment.
  • Merchant avoids receiving and moving cash.
  • Allows business payment to happen from anywhere at any time and directed to specified accounts.
  • Instant notification of all transactions.
  • Enables Merchant to easily reconcile payments made from different clients and between various banks.
  • Merchant is able to broadcast important notices to customers.

FAQ’s: SCHOOL/ FINANCIAL INSTITUTION

Q1. What is Interpay?

Interpay payment platform is an online platform that facilitates the processing of bills and invoices as well as the collection of payments, which allows Educational Institutions to easily authenticate and reconcile payments received from numerous students spread out across the country.

Q2.How does it work?

  • Educational Institution creates an Accounts Office interface (eg: Tuition fees, PTA, Hostel fees, Optional fees, etc.) which enables students to pay for the fees selected.
  • Students receive an email/text message, inviting them to view and pay the fees and to enable them access the Interpay portal.
  • Student logs on to their e-wallets and select the fees that they wish to pay.
  • If there are sufficient funds on the wallet, the transaction is completed. If funds are not sufficient, student is informed to top up wallet at the bank or through mobile money.
  • Once a transaction is complete, Interpay moves money from student’s wallet into The School’s account and sends notifications to all parties that the payment has been made.

Q4. What are the benefits to student / parents?

  • convenience of paying their fees />bills from anywhere at any time.
  • Students/Parents are able to complete their transactions instantly.
  • Students/Parents get to see their entire transaction history.
  • Secure.
  • Bank accounts not exposed.

  • Students are informed by school of any communication.
  • Students cannot move cash out of their wallets.
  • Parents can pay fees into their wards’ wallet and disburse payment; this is likely to prevent students misappropriating their fees.

FAQ’s: STUDENTS

Q1. How to print Interpay statement?

Kindly follow the below steps:

  1. https://www.interpayafrica.com/upsa/student -for UPSA student
    https://www.interpayafrica.com/ rucst/student -for Regent student
  2. Log in with your username (your index number) and your password
  3. In the menu, please do click on: "Print statement" (see file attached)
  4. Select the name of your university from the drop down menu (see file attached)
  5. Select the appropriate date interval (see file attached)
  6. Click on the "Print Statement" button. (See file attached)

After successful completion of the above steps, the system will prompt you to download a PDF containing your statement.

Note: You will need to have PDF document reader such as Adobe reader to be able to read your statement.

Q2. Amount paid not reflecting in Interpay wallet?

-Kindly send a request to the Interpay support team service.desk @interpayafrica.com with the following details:
Bank Name
Bank Branch
Student Id
User Name
Email address
Amount paid
Mobile number

Q3. How to reset password?

  • Contact school IT department to reset for you
  • Reset password yourself

Steps:

  1. Use the interpay link available on your university website
  2. Select “forgot password”
  3. Enter your username (OPTIONAL) and email address
  4. Follow the link sent to your email address
  5. Reset password

Note: the email address should be the same as the one used to register your student wallet in interpay.

Q5. Don’t understand the wallet top-up notification?

Notification is alerting you on a wallet top-up transaction you have made and showing how much you paid at the bank

Q6. Do not receive notifications for transactions

  • This could be because the email address produced by you/university/institution is wrong or does not exist. kindly resend your email address to service.desk@interpayafrica.com
  • Also check your spam box because it is possible the notification is there.

Mozilla Firefox - version 25 or higher

How to check the versions of the browsers mentioned

  • Internet explorer

Steps:

  1. Access internet explorer by opening it up on your computer
  2. Place the cursor on the menu bar and on the keyboard click on “Alt”
  3. Go to “Help” on the task bar and click on it
  4. Select “About Internet Explorer” and it will display the version name or number which you using.
  • Mozilla Firefox

Steps:

  1. Click on “Help” on the menu bar
  2. Click on “About Mozilla Firefox”, it will display the version.
  • Google Chrome

  1. Click on the “Button” on the right corner of the menu bar
